Here we come Hondori~!

We plan to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary at Hondori, Hiroshima. Just me, my hubby and my little princess. It's our very first time to get out without Mamu and others.

First time to get out. First time to spend the day with just the three of us. First time to get out without the car, just riding a train. First time to go to Hondori, where places are full of shopping malls and restaurants. First time to ride a street car.

Oh~well, Let me introduce the Hondori Street in Hiroshima. 

Hondōri (本通^?) is a commercial area in Naka-ku, Hiroshima, Japan, which centers on the Hondōri street which today is a shopping arcade. Hondōri, which means "Main Street", runs from Hatchōbori to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The entire shopping area along Hondōri was destroyed by the 1945 atomic bombing, due to the blast and fire. Shimomura Jewelers, located in a reinforced concrete building with an iconic clock tower, was severely damaged but like a number of concrete buildings in Hiroshima, it partially survived. The blast caused its side walls to severely tilt over. The Teikoku Bank building also survived the blast, although its roof collapsed, a wall was destroyed, and it received other structural damages. By May 1950, the Teikoku Bank building had been restored and the Takaki Bakery (Andersen Bakery) opened in the building in 1967. 

In the 1950s, Hondōri was reconstructed and now it is a modern shopping arcade, which connects the Peace Memorial Park, across Rijō-dōri, to PARCO (shopping center/department store) and Hatchōbori. Hiroshima's Hiroden (street cars) stop at the Hondōri Tram Stop. The Astram Line also serves Hondori, with the Hondōri Station as a terminal station.Okonomi-mura, located near the east end of Hondōri, was the top food theme park destination for families in Japan according to an April 2004 poll.

It was super exciting! When we already arrived at Hiroshima Train Station, we are kinda worried because we doesn't even know where the heck is the street car to take us at Hondori Street. Since we are not good in speaking and reading 'Japanese', but thank god to the Tourist Guide, he spoke a plenty  of english that's why we are finally ride the right street car.

Finally, we arrived at Hondori Street. When we are about to crossed the pedestrian lane, someone just caught my attention, the Bride is having a pictorial in pedestrian line. So I take a peek and shot her through my iPhone cam.

And now we can say, 'Hello, Hondori Street!, make us fun.'

I so love this place, such a great place to shop and have some fun,
but just make sure you have money to spent. 

AFTER SHOPPING, WE WENT TO THE PLACE WHERE THE ATOMIC BOMB WAS HAPPENED.

THEN SPENDING THE NIGHT WITH STARBUCKS COFFEE AND JUST HAVING A TAKE OUT MEAL IN MC DONALDS TO EAT WHILE WE'RE SPENDING A RIDE ON THE TRAIN GOING HOME.  IT'S A SUPER BLASTS OF FUN! WAIT FOR OUR COME BACK, HONDORI.
